Lectura de ruïnes

Sound installation (fan, 3 speakers, graphite intervention on the floor).

The biblical excerpt that narrates the Babel\’s myth has built in our imaginaries the idea of a tower. Considering this, we can ask ourselves: what is the state of this text, after the divine windstorm that brought the falling of the tower and the confusion of the tongues? How does the landscape of the Babel\’s ruins sound like?

To find an answer, I used all the letters from the Babel\’s excerpt to assemble some kind of tower (or, at least, a little pile of tiny pieces of paper) and then, all of a sudden, I don\’t know exactly what it was (a bad omen, a sigh of dislove or maybe, just, a gust of wind) devastated my construction, leaving a mess of printed hebrew letters on my desk; a ruinous landscape.

I read it, with the hope of finding some kind of  secret message, a path, a dream of the past. The sound installation is the result of transposing this soundscape to an exhibition space.
