Les octavianes

Marc Badia found the second edition of a book: Recull d’itineraris excursionistes, by Octavi Artís (Barcelona: Tallers Gràfics Costa, 1920 or 1924). In no more than 113 pages, Artís describes 25 routes to walk in one day only. All of them start in a train station and usually end in another, walking by low hilltops, sanctuaries, springs, villages and farms.

Octavi’s friends is an heterogeneous group of people who meet to (re)read and (re)walk the steps and words that Artís traced a century ago. We search for the paths that he wrote in situ. We read and walk knowing that the possibilities of getting lost and not even being able to follow Artis’ itinerary are high.

During our routes, I register the tracks, which then are published in Wikiloc, with a (re)writing of the itinerary that Artís described a hundred years ago.

On the 3rd August, 2019, we walked “De Balenyà a Taradell, Santuari de Puiglagulla, Vilalleons, Castell de Saladeures i Vic“.

On the 1st September, 2019, we walked “De Figaró a Tagamanent, Pla de la Calma, Sant Pere de Vilamajor“.

On the 20th October, 2019, we walked “De Caldetes a Sant Vicenç de Montalt, Montalt, Corredor, Dolmen de la Pedra Gentil i Sant Celoni“.

On the 23rd November, 2019, we walked “D’Olesa de Montserrat a Esparraguera, Collbató, Sant Geroni, Monestir de Montserrat i Monistrol“.

On the 29th February, 2020, we walked “De Blanes al Santuari de Santa Cristina, Lloret de Mar i Tossa“.

On the 3rd October, 2020, we walked “D’Igualada a Sta. Margarida de Montbui, Coll Bas, Carme, La Pobla de Claramunt i Capellades“.

On the 22nd May, 2021, we walked “De Masnou (Ocata) a Teià, Sant Mateu, Cabrils, Castell de Burriac, Argentona i Mataró“.

On the 26th Septembre, 2021, we walked “De St. Feliu de Codines, Cingle i Ermita de St. Sadurní de Gallifa, Gallifa, Serra de Codina i Castellar del Vallès“.

On the 6th Novembrer, 2021, we walked “De Terrassa a la Font de la Roca, Coll Cardús, Font del Guinardeu, Vacarisses i Olesa de Montserrat“.

On the 12th February, 2022, we walked “De Centelles a Sant Quirze Safaja, Castellcir, Sauva Negra i Centelles”.

On the 19th March, 2022, we walked “De Montgat a Tiana, La Conreria, Turons de Galceran, Castell Ruf i Sant Miquel, Montornès i Montmeló“.

On the 21st May, 2022, we walked “D’Aiguafreda a La Mora, La Castanya i el Montseny (1a etapa)“.

On the 28th January, 2023, we walked “Del Montseny a Santa Maria de Palautordera (2a etapa)“.

On the 4th March, 2023, we walked “De Gavà a l’ermita de Brugues, castell d’Eramprunyà, la Morella i Garraf“.

On the 13th May, 2023, we walked “De St. Sadurní d’Anoia a Subirats, Ordal, Pont del Lledoner, església de st. Ponç, Corbera i Molins de Rei“.
